Saturday links — UW Pro Day March 10

My Vancouver sojourn is almost over — I head home Monday. Bad news for this blog is that I will have a few days of vacation, then head to Arizona for a week or so for some spring training duty. So the reality is that the blog will be a little hit-and-miss until spring practice starts on March 30. But I’ll do what I can to keep a little bit of information on here on a regular basis, and with that in mind, here are a few links: — NFL.com has a list of all the pro days at various schools , and reports that Washington’s will be held March 10. Pro day is when NFL scouts come to campus to time and test potential draftees. — Ted Miller has a couple of UW-related items in his latest mailbag , including speculating that Chip Kelly will stay at Oregon longer than Steve Sarkisian at UW because Sark will lead UW to the Rose Bowl and then take off to the NFL. — The UW-Nebraska game makes a list of the toughest Big 12 non-conference games of next season. — Nick Daschel has an interesting look at the history of major NCAA violations in the Pac-10. — Athlon’s breaks down UW’s 2010 recruiting class and ranks it No. 16 in the country. All for now.

Combine getting started

The NFL Combine is getting underway today with specialists, tight ends and offensive linemen meeting the media in Indianapolis. UW will have two players at the combine — LB Donald Butler and DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim, whose media sessions are each scheduled for Saturday. Danny O’Neil of our staff is covering the Combine and filing regular reports on his blog. The NFL.com blog is also a good place to find info. I haven’t seen much mention of Te’o-Nesheim. But here are two stories mentioning Butler: the San Diego Union-Tribune says he could be a good fit for the Chargers ; and draft analyst Rob Rang lists Butler as a player he thinks will boost his stock at the Combine.
